Homemade chocolate truffles make a lovely gift or after-dinner treat when entertaining. Create a rich, soft ganache then jazzy it up with alcohol, mint or flavoured oils. Dip in toppings such grated chocolate, coconut or crushed nuts
Ingredients:
225ml double cream
150g dark chocolate ( at least 70% solid)
50g milk chocolate
15g room temperature butter
2 tblsp alcohol of choice: rum or whiskey are excellent flavours
Method:
- Place chocolate in a bowl and melt over warmed water.
- Add the cream and butter
- Set aside
- Stir in the alcohol and let cool
- Using a melon ball scoop out a ball of chocolate
- Roll in grated chocolate, nuts or coconut
