Can you celebrate St. Valentine’s day in a pandemic?

Make the celebration of St Valentine’s go on despite the challenges of lockdown. Make your Valentine feel special as you create a romantic Valentine night using this bucket list to get you in the mood for LOVE.

I have put my Valentine list in reverse order – saving the best till last:

Valentine night ideas

  1. Create a memory book of all the great times you have had together, it doesn’t have to be just pictures – you could use your favorite scent or foods.
  2. Create two Valentine cards and post them to your Valentine – sign one from you and the other in a disguise. (There’s nothing better than a little mystery in your relationship)
  3. Take a stub of ‘post-it notes’, write short notes about the things you most appreciate about your partner on and them anywhere they will see them.
  4. Create a romantic music list then relax together – Burt Bacharach and The Carpenters’ are my favorites.
  5. Attend a talk from an art gallery. Many top galleries offer virtual tours. Why not explore The Sistine Chapel? online tours and exhibitions from The LouvreMetropolitan Museum of Art, or National Gallery of Art, to name a few.
  6. Have a games night – Twister is a great one to get closer.
  7. Try a dance class together like Tap, American Line Dancing or Salsa
  8. Make a love trail around your house. Create a trail of confetti or flower petals which lead to a romantic place where you snuggle up together.
  9. Have movie night – watch a Rom Com like ‘When Harry met Sally’ or ‘Bridget Jones diary’.
  10. Listen to a concert together – there are so many fabulous virtual concerts available from very famous venues such as The Met, Covent Garden, La Scala and other venues, explore Google Arts & Culture website for a complete list of museums, galleries or concerts
  11. Take a virtual tour of the countries you want to visit together.
  12. Create a photobook of your favorite places (Pinterest is a great place to start) and send them to your partner as a slideshow if you are strapped for cash or print a photobook ready for your next trip together.
  13. Learn how to say: ‘I love you’ in three new languages.
  14. Play a game together – twister is a great one for getting close.
  15. Get a craft kit and make something that will be your personal ‘I Love You’ token for them to keep forever.
  16. Do a jigsaw.
  17. Watch the sunset together – that is if you can’t face getting up early to watch the sun rise.
  18. Pull out any old photos and clippings you have and make a scrap book together.
  19. Write a bucket list of all the places local and far that you want to visit together (and why).
  20. Make Flash cards about key times in your relationship you want to reminisce about
